‘Sako Kwa Bako’ simply translates to “together every step of the way,” which embodies Tigo’s commitment to enhancing its relationship with customers by invoking cherished memories of shared experiences, from iconic campaign taglines to life-changing products and services.
Speaking during the launch, Tigo’s Chief Executive Officer, Kamal Okba said, “With ‘Sako Kwa Bako,’ we are celebrating our 20 million customers and express gratitude for their unwavering loyalty. Our journey has been profoundly enriching, marked by innovation and many a first to market products and services coupled with, exceptional customer service in a bid to ensure that every Tigo customer feels connected, valued, and empowered.”
While commenting on this achievement Tigo’s Chief Commercial Officer, Isack Nchunda attributed the growth of the customer base to Tigo’s customer centric culture, stating that, “At Tigo, we are dedicated to driving digital transformation in Tanzania. With our internationally recognized fastest network in Tanzania, we are pioneering the widest 4G coverage nationwide, slated for completion by June 2024. Furthermore, we have introduced the fastest 5G technology in key cities and are the first telecom company to offer Fiber to Home and Office services in the country”.
